Hobby farm

On Monday, Kim and I lunched with Fabián and Mery and their daughter, Sara.  This little family lives on the outskirts of Ipiales in a small house set on the back of a fairly good-sized lot.  They've made good use of their front yard to plant a garden, raise chickens and rabbits and a dog, and have a play area for Sara.  It's cute and quiet...and cold.

F & M's home is just to the right of where the picture is being taken.

Píter Pan

They do get real-live strawberries from this plant, but the ones that you can see here are just painted rocks.

Blackberries

Thank you for a terrific lunch!  We'll see you next time.

These greenhouse-like roofs help the laundry dry more quickly.
