I just can't leaf them alone!

My sweet dad sent me the following e-mail the other day:

I suppose if anyone might like looking at amazing trees, it might be you. :-)

It's a wonderful page full of... you guessed it... TREES!
Maybe you'd like to take a look as well.  :)

Kid Snippets

I was recently introduced to this series of videos on YouTube.  Kids create dialogue regarding a given scenario, and then adults act them out.  Some of them are quite entertaining.  Here are my two favorites (of the few that I watched).

Food for Thought

In the absence of clearly defined goals, we are forced to concentrate on activity and ultimately become enslaved by it.

Chuck Coonradt

Remember these?

In going through my closets in preparation for my upcoming trip, I came across a whole box of these things.  They are loaded with everything from college papers to pictures to music to creative writing endeavors to lesson plans.  Makes me feel a bit antiquated!

New glasses!

Giordano's

How is it that my cousin and I spent the whole day together in Chicago-land, and the only thing we managed to get a picture of was the pizza?

Makes your mouth water, doesn't it???

Wheeling and Dealing

As we drove along a street in Suburbia on Monday, Krista and I observed a man arriving home from a trip to the grocery store.  He carried a bag of what appeared to be eggs as he wheeled into his driveway......  on his unicycle.  I was sorry that conditions were not optimal for getting a picture.

Side note

This past Saturday, a few friends came over to Mom and Dad's to help critique some hymns regarding sing-ability.  Somehow, I only managed to get one picture of that actual event.  (And that one didn't turn out too well.)  The rest of my photo-taking energy was directed toward a certain little bright-eyed cutie.  All critiques on this "side note" were exceedingly positive!

"Do you want my pacifier?"

All evening, Eleanor would hold up one finger when asked how old she was.  (Her birthday was the 12th.)  The exception to the rule was when I had the camera pointed in her direction.  Here Grandma coaxes to no avail.

This is as close to a "one" shot as I got!

A silver lining

The pile of music I'm trying to work on this morning is a little overwhelming if the truth be told.  However, when I come across pages like this...

I'm reminded that we really have come a long way!

I guess I'll keep plugging away.

Up and at 'em!

After dropping Jane off at the airport at 5:40 this morning, I decided that a little treat was in order.

Precioso

This sweet little fellow was born Nov. 2 (if I remember correctly), and Jane and I got to see him for the first time yesterday.  He slept the whole time, but of course we didn't mind!  :)

Thought for the day

Sometimes we see victory as completely impossible when instead we should see it as absolutely essential.

Here's mine for today

Solitary sentinel, standing tall
You, alone, against it all
Silent, watching, steady, strong
Bringing out some unsung song
That’s hidden deep, as yet unknown
But as I ponder, here alone
Beholding you, there in your place
I’m satisfied, that this is grace

Any more poets out there?

In response to my entry "Poetree" back in April, I received a few lovely tree poems.  No one gave me specific permission to share their poem, so I will refrain.  However, I very much enjoyed reading them myself and would still be interested in seeing yours if you forgot to send it earlier.  ðŸ˜‰

Here are a "few" more trees that I found when I was looking for pictures on line if you need further inspiration.  ðŸ˜ƒ
