Cascada

On Wednesday, July 6, our first order of business (after the hotel grounds tour) was hiking.  We took the local bus into town and planned to take another bus from there to the entrance to the waterfall per the instructions of our friendly hotel reception desk lady. However, when we had waited for nearly half an hour in Otavalo for the bus that went to the waterfall, we broke down and flagged down a pickup taxi.  Kyle and Kalynn got to ride in the back this time.

The entrance to the waterfall/park area was filled with little restaurants and shops.

Should I?

Okay, folks.  Hang on.  We're about to start hiking.  And also taking LOTS of pictures.  I'm not going to sort them, so this may set your head to spinning a bit.  :-)

Little bro could never just walk across a hanging bridge!

Can a person be the problem and the solution at the same time???

Can you see the (very private) shower?

Guardrail construction underway

I think there used to be another step.

He made it!

So, here's the entrance.  It showed up as the first picture in my uploads, but obviously my computer has its own ideas about order.  :-/

Mom was the sunglasses holder for our this particular photo session.

The man behind the camera (one of them, anyway)

We saw this little bridge from the hanging bridge that we crossed at the beginning of our hike.  Kalynn wanted to find it, so we made a diligent search at the end of the hike and were successful.  Looks like a good place to sit and soak your feet!

Worn out???
