A few thoughts from Las Mercedes

  • A humble person doesn't resist correction because of his great need.
  • True faith believes that if I confess my sin, God will forgive me.  When we have that kind of faith, there is no need to try and hide our sin from God.  The answer is in drawing near to Him.
  • We can't have faith and stay right where we are. True faith moves us to take steps.
  • Abraham didn't consider his own weakness or the deadness of Sarah's womb.  He believed in God.  When we just consider our own flesh, there's much that could hinder us.  Likewise simply considering the weakness of others.  God is able to fulfill what He has promised.
  • Anything that is worth anything costs something.
  • If we just stay with the multitude, we'll never hear the voice of Jesus.
  • Saul lost all feeling concerning his own sin.
  • The life of one lamb matters!
  • The shepherd takes good care of the lambs because they have a future.
  • Without sacrifice, there's no peace, no joy, no victory.
