I think the only way someone here could claim that they didn't know it was Valentine's Day was if they were blind (and possibly also deaf). The front of every tienda was chalk-full of gaudy goodies for your Special Someone. Street vendors carried around balloons and flowers and stuffed animals on sidewalks and at the stoplights of nearly every intersection in the city. The entire city of Guayaquil took on a reddish tint on February 14, and I only managed to get two photos of quite terrible quality. You'll just have to use your imagination for the rest!
