Thoughts from Mt. Sterling convention

  • Read the Bible to see Jesus.
  • Jesus never played tug-of-war with God.
  • We're glad Jesus didn't base His decisions on cost.
  • God doesn't grow weary of our pleading.
  • Elijah was willing to pray for what would benefit the kingdom even at great personal cost.
  • Pray for those who seem strong; we can't see secret struggles.
  • In order for there to be a difference, there has to be change.
  • The answer for difficult times is to keep on going.
  • There's a reason for every failure and a secret to every success.
  • Influences of the world want to creep in, but they don't creep back out.
  • Nothing of our flesh will spend eternity in heaven.
  • No matter where we've been, there is a right step to take.
  • Humility can take a lot and still reach out to help others.  Pride is very selfish.
  • Hearing and obeying God saves us from needless sorrow.
  • Paying our vows brings greater joy.
  • We don't know what temptations will come, but the answer is to watch and pray.
  • A column is held in place by the weight it bears.
