Traveling to Quito

On Monday, November 18, a group of us left El Cristal immediately after breakfast to catch the bus to Quito.  Here are "a few" shots taken from the bus window during the trip.  And if it hadn't started raining, you'd be subjected to more!

I love the clouds in the mountains!

Must be a castle back there!

Traffic jam

Homemade bus stop

Those ramps are to get your car up on the sidewalk.

When you run out of clothesline...

Roadside restaurant

Chicken, Chops and Guinea Pig
And the Saturday offerings are Tripe and Fish Soup

He must be on the menu as well.

Truck for sale

Public restrooms
The man sitting outside collects the fee for using the restroom.

Taxis lined up and ready to go

Now we're getting into the high point of the country.
Can you see Chimborazo in the background?

It's fun to try and spot the llamas and alpacas in this part of the country, though getting a good picture of them is tricky.

A slightly better picture of Chimborazo

Can you spot the picnickers?

That's quite a load!

Moveable store front

School's out.
