Leaving El Cristal

Karena, Jenimae and Andrea needed to be in Quito on Monday afternoon for their flight back to the States.  All the Quito friends who had come to El Cristal already had full cars for traveling back to the city, so that left public transport as the only option.  Actually, there was one family who offered to take them in the back of their truck; we thanked them for the thought and sent our luggage with them.  Finally, it was decided that they would stay and help with clean-up, and then I would go with them on an overnight bus from Guayaquil to Quito.

Saying good-bye after finishing up "our part" of the clean up

Dear, sweet Ronny Palma endured 3+ hours of incessant English chatter as he chauffeured us from the convention grounds to Guayaquil.

We had supper with the Guzmán family at the Martha before heading to the bus terminal.

Despite a few obstacles that presented themselves, we finally managed to get tickets on the 11:00 bus to Quito.

It's a double decker!  Too bad it will be too dark to catch any scenery.
