Reunión de siervos / Workers Meeting

On Thursday, June 11, I was present at my first workers' meeting here in Ecuador.  Actually, there are two meetings with a speaking list to let you know in which meeting you will be taking part.  It was wonderful to share in this experience with the staff that I am now a part of.  Glad that it's the same work here and there and everywhere - weak human vessels submitted to God's call and claim on their lives being used by Him as He sees fit.  And it works!  Here are a few thoughts that were shared on this special day.

  • Nuestra competencia es de Dios. / Our competency (ability, sufficiency) is of God.
We don't want to just serve; we want to have the spirit of service.
When Jesus washed the feet of all of His disciples, it would have united them.
  • La falta de unidad es desastrosa. / The lack of unity is disastrous.
Abraham's servant in Gen. 24:2 would have started out as a young servant in the house.  He stayed and kept himself, and this was the result.
The ox isn't born knowing (what to do, how to be useful); he learns in the yoke.
There are many things that want to divert, to distract us in our search for bread.
  • Respondiendo al Espíritu nos da valentía. / Responding to the Spirit gives us courage.
The thing that unites us (as a people, as workers, as a body) is when when we are (individually) united with Jesus.
Sometimes we try to prove the ground before we sow, but it's the seed that proves the ground.
As we have more fellowship with God, we will more fully enjoy fellowship with our brethren.
