Las Mercedes convention - Nov. 10-12, 2017

  • The standards that are in Christ do not change.
  • Being faithful in secret gives us power to do what is right in public.
  • We owe our flesh nothing.
  • Jesus didn't criticize His disciples for having dirty feet.  He washed them.
  • We see Christ in those who are willing to die to themselves.
  • What God gives us is sufficient to produce what He is desiring in us.
  • Anger is a God-given emotion that needs to be controlled by God.
  • If you're having trouble with willingness, read the end of each gospel.
  • Many people in the world are touched by the story of the cross, but only a few are moved by it.
  • Mercy is not a license to do wrong, but it puts a fallen man on his feet again.
  • We have a Father who cares for us all, and we don't want to hurt His heart by fighting with each other.
  • Pride stops the flow of God's grace to us.
  • God doesn't feed us because we deserve it but because we are needy.
  • When dealing with hard earth, man's solution is to bring bigger, stronger equipment.  God's solution is to send a gentle rain.
  • It takes a strong man to shoot an arrow, but it takes a stronger man not to shoot it.
  • The real victory is not just to keep quiet, but to keep a right spirit.
  • God hears every prayer that our lips pray, but He honors every prayer the our heart prays.
