El Cristal convention - Nov. 17-19, 2017

The main house and the dining "tent"

"La Casa Blanca" taken from the road

Looking from the road up toward the meeting tent

And across the road at the river:

All set up and ready for meeting

A FEW THOUGHTS SHARED:
  • Redemption is God's work.  When He redeems us, we belong to Him.
  • God wants to separate us from the influence of this world in order to have fellowship with us.
  • Our human nature loves to be deceived.
  • When we're discouraged, the best thing we can do is just get close to Jesus.
  • Gen. 23:2 - Abraham realized, "It's time to bury what I've been mourning over."  Bury past sins in the field of repentance.  Bury past offenses in the field of forgiveness.  Bury lost relationships, lost abilities in the field of acceptance.
  • Our friends will always carry us in one direction or another.
  • God has purchased us completely, so we can't just give Him part of us.
  • When we accept Jesus, God accepts us.
  • If you're defeated, don't accept it.
  • No matter how far you feel from God, pray again.  Try again.
  • Our future does not need to be like our past.
  • When we, through repentance, get back up after a fall, God is glorified.
  • Knowing God better gives us a greater desire to enter more fully into His purity.
  • We show our love for God by being identified with the rejected Christ in this world.
  • It's possible to serve God in a way that brings us no joy.  It's also possible to serve God in a way that brings us much joy.
  • God never denies help to the needy.
