A city clothed in yellow

On March 29, the Ecuadorian soccer team played against Colombia for some kind of major championship.  The game was in Colombia with all traffic being routed through Guayaquil.  Marsha and I allowed ourselves extra time to get to our lunch appointment downtown; we were late anyway.  Most Guayaquileños not in work uniform were in soccer fan uniform.  Yellow shirts hung in market stalls, on street corners, in front of little stores everywhere and on poles borne by vendors.  Ecuadorian flags waved from homes, car windows, hands and poles borne by vendors.  It wasn't convenient to take pictures most of the time, so I only managed to get two shots from the back seat of our taxi as we headed to a study in the late afternoon.  (After Ecuador had already lost the game, I believe)
