A few thoughts from Ipiales convention

  • The worth of what we say depends on what's in our heart.
  • The words of Boaz comforted Ruth not just because they were nice words but because of what Boaz himself was.
  • A child has the faith to believe that those who love him want to help him.
  • We want to put forth effort to focus on Jesus.
  • We don't want to tolerate within ourselves things that God hates.
  • The fruit of the gospel is always to the honor and glory of God.
  • Jesus' disciples would have given Him courage to go forth to find other souls.  Seeing those who have already believed gives us courage to go out and find others.
  • It's impossible to approach our Father if we're not right with our brother.
  • In sending Joseph to Egypt, God was making provision for the future.
  • When Joseph was put in prison, it was the same place that he would have found himself in had he been guilty.  However, instead of suffering for wrong-doing, he was suffering for righteousness' sake.
  • What God decided in the beginning still works.
  • It's impossible to live a hidden life before God.
  • Cain didn't offer damaged fruit; it was his attitude that caused his offering to be rejected.
  • Never correct somebody until they know that you love them.
