Ibarra
Linda, Jill and I left Ipiales on Monday morning and headed to Ibarra by way of two taxis (1 - across the border into Ecuador & 2 - from the border to the bus terminal), one bus and another taxi (Ibarra bus terminal to one of two shopping malls in Ibarra). We had lunch in the patio de comidas (food court) at the mall and then hung out for a while as we waited for the appropriate time to head to our home for the night. When we arrived at Sra. Patricia's, she welcomed us warmly and let us "rest" for a little bit until our first of three studies for the day at 5:00 pm. We had three lovely studies that evening. 1) 5:00 pm - Matt. 13:24-end with Anaí I would guess A to be in her early teens. The sisters workers started studying with a couple of ladies a few years ago in the mornings. When the daughters of two of the ladies heard about the workers and the studies, they wanted their own studies. Since they are in school during the day, evening studies for the two girls were arranged. Camili was unable to make the Monday study this week since she and her mother were moving house. However, she did join us for the Tuesday morning study since she was on vacation from school. 2) 7:00 pm - Matt. 11 with Rodolfo's mother Rodolfo is a man that Jill met on a bus some time ago. After talking with Jill on the bus trip, he declared that he would be interested in learning more about the Bible. His mother also expressed an interest, and the workers have studied with them since that time (not yet a year). Rodolfo was unable to come this week, but his mother gladly received us. 3) 9:00 pm - midweek study (Zechariah 3 & 4 with assorted references) with Sra. Patricia Fortunately, we arrived home from the second study early enough to have supper before the midweek study. Also fortunately, the last study started on time. Neither of those two things are a given! Needless to say, we were ready for bed when the time came!
Tuesday morning, we had one more study in Sra. Patricia's home. We studied Mark 7. Since it was Jill and Linda's last time to be there for a while, we took a picture after the study. Here are the ladies.

Patricia, Jill, Jenny, Linda
Eli, Camili, Sandra
We were sorry not to get a picture of Anaí, but maybe I can make that happen another time.
This group of ladies to me illustrates the verse, "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." May it ever be so.
Name that Dish
On a previous trip to Ipiales, Jill and Linda had discovered a quite nice restaurant near the center of town. We decided to treat ourselves on Friday afternoon of this past week.
I ordered Steack Portobello. (Yes, that's how it was spelled on the menu.)
The yellow stuff in the middle is mashed potatoes.
If I recall correctly, my plate cost somewhere between $7 and $8.

A few random pics from Sra. Alicia's in Ipiales
Upstairs - a nice open space to sit in the sun and work on whatever it is you're working on
You can see the laundry room in the background. Sra. Alicia has an automatic washing machine but no dryer.
Not a good spot to stand if you're feeling dizzy
I tried to take some pictures with my iPad and discovered that in most of them, I captured the corner of my pink iPad cover. Please excuse such, and I will try to do better in coming days. :-)
