On Friday morning, Mom and I decided it would be nice to go for a walk before we ran out of opportunity. I knew that Darla also likes to walk, so I invited her to come along. She was game, so we set off on what proved to be a bit more of an adventure than we had counted on.

Keeping the trash (or at least some of it) out of reach of scrounging animals
Okay, at some point we decided that the road we were on wasn't doing what we had expected it to do, circle around to take us back to the grounds. Now what? Google maps is a handy little app. The only problem is when you don't exactly know where your destination is.
This way? That way? Make a guess and keep walking!
At least it's scenic!
At some point we picked up a canine companion who ended up accompanying us all the way back to the grounds. We felt bad when we had to close the gate on him at the end of the journey. (And so now you do know that we did indeed eventually make it back!)
I think we want to be over there.
There's not exactly a road to get there, but we'll take what we can get.
Maybe around this bend in the road?
Turns out, it was (or at least kind of). Our walk ended up being a bit longer than we had anticipated, but at least we didn't miss any meals. :-)
