You may recall that the Special Meetings and conventions in Quito are held in a Baptist church camp on the outskirts of Quito in a little village called La Merced. Meetings start on Friday evening, so all the workers arrive on Thursday morning to get things ready for the arrival of our friends the next day. The kitchen must be cleaned and "assembled." The meeting room must be set up. The laundry facilities must be put together. (Sometimes some of the friends bring a small washing machine, and there are lines to hang up in numerous places for drying clothes.) The dining room and dishwashing area must be set up. The dormitories and bathrooms must be gone over and the workers' rooms arranged. It's not like preps at a privately owned convention grounds, but it makes for a rather full day! Here are a few shots from our day of preps this rounds (June 23).
The women's dormitory building is divided in to fourteen rooms, if I correctly recall, with most containing four beds.
The women's dorm is the entire building that you see on the right. You can see part of the men's dorm on the left.
The women's dorm is divided into two parts. Each side has two bathrooms containing two stools and two showers apiece.
