Canopy Adventure

Kyle and Kalynn had been zip lining before; for the rest of us, this was a new experience.  There were ten cables spread out over the property, over the forest and sometimes through the clouds.

For the most part, each ride was solo.  However at about half of the cables, there was the option for one person to go across in butterfly style or as Superman/Superwoman (upside down or on your stomach).  Kyle and Kalynn were the most adventurous of our number and tried both styles, connected to one of our two guides.  I opted out of the upside down option but decided that having a "laying down" look at the forest below could be interesting.  Perhaps I speak as an "oldish" person speaks when I say that riding that way was hard on the hips, but other than that, it was a fun little modification.

Mom was a trooper!  She was quite nervous at the beginning.  Understandably.  I might confess to a bit of the same nerve twinges.  Anyway, once she got past the first cable, she decided that all was good and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the trips across the wire, as did the rest of us.

Thick leather gloves were required for a couple of the fast zip lines as you had to maintain one hand on the top wire for balance.  They were pretty heated up by the time you reached the other side!

Chau, Kalynn!

Karmen and Dad were the picture-takers, so I guess we didn't get any shots of them.  :-(
Next time.  :-)
