Mom and I arrived at David Lansdale's a little before 8:00 on Monday morning to meet up with the rest of the crew headed for the jungle. Norman Coloma (son of Sra. Ligia at the El Cristal convention grounds) has access to a 14-passenger van, so he was going to take us part of the way.
The travelers: Norman, Darwin (an acquaintance of Norman's), Alberto, LeRoy, Héctor, Rob, Ricardo, Henry, Luz, Verónica, Darla, Mom and me
We began the trip with the "backseat goofies."

We weren't quite sure what to expect because we had heard about landslides along the route that we were taking. Sure enough, we passed several, but other than one stop of about an hour while crews cleaned up the road, we didn't have any trouble. (I think, however, that in the place where we waited for an hour that a vehicle had gone over the side of the mountain.)
We finally got to the point where Norman's route differed from our own, so those of us heading to Lago Agrio disembarked and began waiting for the bus that would take us the rest of the way. It was a bit of a wait due to the fact that absolutely no vehicles were coming from the main route to Quito (the way from which we had just come). We think they must have closed the road shortly after we got through. Eventually, another rerouted bus came from another direction and picked us up. Off again!
Norman, Darwin, Henry and Alberto are headed to Tena.

Dear Kyle and Kalynn,
When you come, would you please bring me some more of these? After our nine-hour trip to the jungle, I'm running a bit low.
Thanks,
Kamela
