First Impressions

AndreaV, Karena C and Jenimae K arrived in Ecuador on Nov. 10, 2016.  As first-time visitors to the South American continent, they did a remarkable job of fending for themselves (with a little help from our friends) until they arrived where I was the following day.

This post is comprised of pictures they took before we met up at Las Mercedes - some of their very first impressions of my adopted country.

Selfie upon arrival at the Quito airport

Typical city traffic and scenery

Cemetery

Scrubland near Manta

Apparently the road between Portoviejo and Las Mercedes was even more perilous than normal, due at least in part, to road construction.  The ladies said that getting to convention proved to be QUITE the adventure.  Here's just a piece of it.

There's more than one way to transport a ladder!

Construction

Funny little moto

Bamboo architecture

Slightly out of proportion?

Heading into the hills of Manabí

Some kind of danger ahead, but don't worry, we'll get through.

A load of cane

Roadwork and police

Nearly there!
