A few thoughts from Cuenca convention

  • Rom. 13:12-14  Being found in our nightclothes in the daytime embarrasses us.  We need a private place to change our clothing - the place of prayer.
  • Any desire that is not in line with God's desires is a wrong desire.
  • We don't want to separate truth and righteousness.  Righteousness is just putting the truth into practice.
  • We must lay aside pride to be able to forgive.
  • The world has mixed up light and darkness.  They call what is right, wrong and what is wrong, right.  God wants to separate the light and the darkness in our experience.  We don't decide what is light.  Jesus is light.
  • Another thing that God separated in His work of creation was the waters above and the waters beneath.  Water comes from above; it's a blessing from God.  Without water, there is no life, no fruit, no growth.  There are blessings that God has given to us that are of this world, and one day those will end.  There are also blessings "from above" that are eternal.  Many people are recipients of earthly blessings and therefore, incorrectly believe that they have God's approval.
  • It is only by the word of God and His work of separation in us that our lives can be fruitful.
  • You can't take back an arrow once it has been released from the bow; words are the same.
  • Having knowledge of God and knowing Him are two very different things.
  • A weaned child is one who has ceased to cry for what he can no longer have.
  • Jesus made Himself blind and deaf to things that could distract Him.
