On Monday, John Narváez volunteered to take Karmen and me to the famous cathedral of Las Lajas. It looked like rain when we left, but the skies soon brightened, and we were glad that we hadn't called off our excursion due to inclement weather.
We stopped at a look-out point on the way.

Plaques cover the rock walls all around the church, thanking the Virgin of Las Lajas for favors received and miracles performed.
This little fountain apparently contains holy water. People can buy plastic jugs at any of the multitudinous souvenir stands to fill with said water.
It's a long way down!
