Our Thursday walk was in the direction of town. We wanted to get down to the "main road" so we could get a shot of the "driveway" up to Ali Shungu. The going part was all downhill, which means that coming back was not downhill. We took our time and lots of pictures and enjoyed the fresh air and little bit of exercise for the day.
The best place to begin taking pictures is right outside the front door, right?!
On our way down to the main road, we first strolled along the paved paths that lead through the beautiful gardens of Ali Shungu.
Warning: Many flower pictures to follow.
Getting the perfect shot
Sara followed us with a stick.
The resident llama
Apparently, Sara is only allowed to go so far in this direction.
That's the main road down there.
Patchwork countryside
Our welcoming committee in town
Perhaps you can get a little idea of why a regular taxi wouldn't make it up here if it has rained recently?
Back up we go
Yes, it's a bit of a climb.
Home is in sight.
Neighbor dogs
Sunbathing
Ali Shungu has four different cabins in which guests may stay. The little house that you see in front must actually belong to some of the staff. You can see the roofs of three of the four cabins behind this house. Our roof is the one that is hidden from sight; it's directly behind the front house, to the left of the cabin that you can see in the back right of this picture.. In the very back, you can see Frank and Margaret's home (the owners).
Back through the gardens we will go.
Home again, home again
Making puppy chow
And now for an evening full of coloring and games!
