Thoughts from Seneca convention

  • God doesn't begrudge us of comfort if we're desperate, no matter how small or insignificant the situation actually is - like a mother comforting her child who has a scraped knee.
  • There's a wonderful comfort in being on the Lord's side.
  • We can't get everything at convention that we'll need all year, but we can get a renewed vision of the storehouse.
  • Worship is like a deep desire in us to be exactly like Jesus.
  • Integrity is being the same whether we're with others or alone.
  • We profit by laboring to see the good in others.
  • David didn't seek place, but neither did he shirk responsibility.
  • If we don't believe in the goodness of God, life can and will overwhelm us.
  • Pride only grows unless put to death by some outside force.
  • How do people respond to a baby that's taking his first steps?  Do they stand around the edges of the room saying, "I know he's going to fall" and just wait for it to happen?  No.  They know he will fall, but they stay close to him and encourage him to take another step.
  • We don't always know what our need is, but we know we need to be near God so He can help us.
  • Comfort doesn't always require words.
  • The more we invest in serving Jesus, the more we get out of it.
  • God will honor our desire to change.
