As we were writing and addressing letters on New Year's Eve, Laura turned to Alaina and asked, "What would you like to change about your life in the new year, Alaina?"
"Well," replied her friend ponderingly, "I should probably clip my toenails."
Then, she reconsidered.
"Actually, I just made that up quickly."
With baited breath, we awaited her next words.
"I don't think I actually need to clip them."
