Thoughts from Ambato convention

Ambato
Nov. 30 - Dec. 1, 2019
  • God hides some things for our salvation, and He reveals some things for our salvation.
  • Our purpose in seeking is very important.
  • God is seeking us even more than we are seeking Him.
  • The flesh and the Spirit cannot prosper within us at the same time.  What will we allow to prosper in our lives?
  • The purpose of the shepherd is always to give life to the sheep.  We can have confidence in the purpose and motives of Jesus for us.
  • There were many sacrifices offered in the Old Testament, but the only ones that counted were the ones offered upon the altar.  The only sacrifices today that are worth anything are the ones offered in the will of God.
  • There are many causes in the world, but it is only losing our lives for His cause that will enable us to take it up again.
  • Jesus lived every day of His life as a lamb, and it enabled Him to face the experience of the cross as a lamb.
  • There is every provision that we could bear fruit.
  • It's good to serve God with a good conscience.  The blood of Jesus makes that possible.
  • Peter told the Jews in Acts 3:14, "You denied Jesus."  Peter had also denied Jesus, but he didn't say, "We denied Him."  Peter had taken care of that through repentance.  His conscience was free.
  • We not only believe in miracles, we depend on them.
  • Every child of God is a miracle.
  • Jesus left the authority of His parents, not to do HIs own will, but the will of His heavenly Father.
  • God will never ask us to perform miracles; He will only ask us to do what we can do.
  • The more we put into our service, the more we get out of it.
  • There will be suffering if we go forward or if we go back.  Better to go forward!
  • Jesus made it easy for others to ask for forgiveness.
  • Growth begins with humility.
  • Nobody will every have heavenly wisdom without asking for it from God.
  • Making peace requires courage.
  • We ask for fruit, and God gives us seeds.
  • When the prodigal son closed the door and left his father's house, his father didn't stop loving him, but he left that love behind.  Living far away, he perhaps wouldn't have been so sure of his father's love.
  • To feel the Father's love, we must honor and fear Him.
  • We honor God by following Jesus.
  • When we don't close the door in the place of prayer, it's like turning the house of prayer into a den of thieves.
  • We honor God by keeping His word.
  • Divine love brings about spiritual stability.
