At least a couple of readers may recognize the skirt worn by Sheila (on the right). It used to be her big sister's a few years ago. When I first came to Ecuador, a family of sewers from Indiana asked for the ages of all the little girls in my field. There were quite a few! They made and sent down skirts for each one, and at least one of them is still around to be a hand-me-down over four years later.
