No go
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the four of us (Jim, Alberto, Eli & I) split up for lunch as we headed to points more easterly in our field. Jim and Alberto got off the bus in Papayaco (or something like that), and Eli and I continued on another half an hour or so to this little spot in the middle of nowhere.
There are apparently several dogs here who don't particularly like visitors, so we stayed down by the road and called up to the owners to let them know that we had arrived.
Except nobody came. After we had waited a while, the grandson drove by on his motorcycle and informed us that nobody was indeed home.
Might as well take a few pictures as we wait for the next bus...
Return trip
We spent just one night in Tena, and the following day, Norman took Jim, Alberto, Eli and me back to Lago. We stopped at the same waterfall on the way back, though I didn't pay the $2.00 to go down and see it this time. I stayed in the parking lot and took pictures of all the flowers around the place.

Jim and Alberto spent two weeks with Eli and me so that Jim could get to know our field a bit since he is new to the country. David and his mother were visiting from Quito while David's house was having a bit of a remodel job.

Traveling to Tena
On Tuesday, Eli and I were able to hitch a ride with one of the friends to Tena. It's about a 5 hour trip, so it's nice to avoid the bus whenever possible. We met up with Norman (our driver) at his brother and sister-in-law's house in Lago.

We made a quick stop at a little tourist spot along the way, which made for a nice stretching break as well as giving opportunity to take a few photos.
You can stay in this cabin that overlooks the waterfall.
