Unos pensamientos de La Merced / A few thoughts from La Merced

• La buena semilla es frágil; necesito cuidado. / The good seed is fragile; it needs care.

• El diablo pone más obstáculos cuando estamos pensando en tomar un paso más profundo en la voluntad de Dios. / The devil puts more obstacles in our path when were thinking about taking a step deeper into God's will.

• Si una experiencia consume en nosotros lo que no nos conviene, vale la pena. / If an experience consumes in us what is not good for us, it's worth it.

• Podemos tener un lindo espíritu humanamente, pero el Espíritu Santo viene de Dios. / We can have a beautiful human spirit, but the Holy Spirit comes from God.

• Con mansedumbre viene la sumisión, la obediencia. / With meekness come submission and obedience.

• Cuando Dios nos hace ver algo en nosotros que no debe estar, es tiempo de cortarlo. / When God shows us something within us that shouldn't be there, it's time to cut it off.

• Una señora tuvo miedo de entrar en una lancha para pasar al otro lado del río.  Se quedó con un pie adentro de la lancha y un pie en la tierra.  Alguien le dijo, "Señora, si quiere llegar al otro lado, hay que poner los dos pies en la lancha." / A lady was frightened of getting into a boat to take her to the other side of the river.  She stood there with one foot in the boat and the other foot on the shore.  Someone told her, "Ma'am, if you want to get to the other side, you'll have to put both feet in the boat."

• El arrepentimiento quita el temor. / Repentance takes away fear.

• La esperanza nos anima a seguir sembrando. / Hope encourages us to keep sowing.

• Dios nos ha escogido para manifestar las virtudes de Cristo. / God has chosen us to manifest the virtues of Christ.

• Tentar a Dios es esperar que Él nos salve sin nosotros cumplir con las condiciones de ser salvos. / Tempting God is expecting that He would save us without fulfilling (ourselves) the conditions to be saved.

• Tenemos el privilegio y la responsabilidad de pedir a Dios que nos muestre muestro pecado. / We have the privilege and the responsibility to ask God to show us our sin.

• José dejó a su padre y viajó una larga distancia trayendo pan y sus hermanos no lo apreciaron.  Jesús tuvo la misma experiencia. / Joseph left his father and traveled a large distance bringing bread, and his brothers didn't appreciate it.  Jesus had the same experience.

• No queremos evitar ninguna experiencia sino pedir la fuerza para soportar y avanzar. / We don't want to avoid any experience; rather, we want to ask for strength to endure and go forward.

• No es tan sólo el pan que compartimos que es importante sino también el espíritu en lo cual lo compartimos. / It's not just the bread that we share that's important; it's also the spirit in which we share it.

• El diablo quiere destruir la comunión entre nosotros. / The devil wants to destroy fellowship among us.

• Había dos milagros en Hechos 2.  El Espíritu Santo cambia nuestra manera de hablar y oír. / There were two miracles in Acts 2.  The Holy Spirit changes our manner of speaking and of hearing.

• No queremos que los dólares nos roben del oro. / We don't want dollars to rob us of gold.
