Daniel and Alicia, two of our contacts in Tulcán, make their living selling "shredded" mango. Eli and I decided to visit their stand in the center of the city one Tuesday afternoon before beginning our afternoon of studies.
The base of the "dish" is green mango. You can choose sweet (chocolate, berry syrup, cinnamon, honey, sprinkles) or salty (salt, pepper, lemon, vinegar) toppings. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I found it to be a pretty tasty treat!
Eli and I both chose the sweet toppings.
