A couple of Tuesdays ago, we planned to have lunch in a restaurant where Ookyoung and I had eaten before last year in Tulcán. The owner had asked us some questions, and we had actually attended one of the Bible services that he held there at the restaurant. After that, we never returned. Eli and I decided that we would make an appearance and see if he said anything.
We arrived at the restaurant around noon and enjoyed a nice lunch. We did end up having a visit with the owner and a couple of preachers after we ate, but nothing much seemed to come of it. Oh well. We plan to go tomorrow again, so we'll see if anything happens.
After lunch, we had a little time before our first scheduled study, so I called our friends in Tulcán to ask if we could come have a bit of a rest in their home before heading out again. However, I guess I didn't specify that we had already had lunch. So, when we arrived at the house, there was a second lunch waiting for us. We tried to get out of it, but it didn't work. So our rest turned into another meal.
After not resting, we headed out to our first of three afternoon studies. After the first study, the daughter excitedly announced that they had made lasagna especially for us! While we certainly appreciated their thoughtfulness and generosity, our stomachs could not rejoice at this news. And the portions! So we ate again.
I should have put something else in the picture for a size comparison, but that's one large piece of lasagna and one large mug of tea!
Our second study ended up being cancelled, so we got a bit of a rest before the third study. I thought maybe I should go take a walk instead of taking a nap, but I could hardly move!
After our last study of the day, instead of serving us the normal hot gelatin and bread, they decided to give us a full fledged meal - meat, rice, potatoes, salad.
Needless to say, when we got to the home where we were staying for the night, we turned down the offer of a snack before bed!
