On the morning of Dec. 19, I left for Quito so that I could meet Karmen's plane that night. I hadn't planned on eating breakfast, but once again don Pastor wanted to make sure I didn't waste away and brought me a plate of chicken and rice with a cooked green banana and a cup of coffee. That should get me to Quito!
