Back to Quito

Usually on the Monday morning after Special Meetings in Ipiales, all the workers take the bus to Quito in order to continue on to Manabí on Tuesday.  This time, we avoided the bus.  A young family who lives in Santo Domingo, Ecuador had been to the meetings in Ipiales and offered to take us to Quito in their rented van on Monday.  And thus it was arranged.  It was a bit of a squeeze, but we made it.  And were glad that we didn't have to watch any nasty movies as we journeyed!  We had much better entertainment.

We stopped at a lovely place for lunch on Lago San Pablo, just past Otavalo.  It was actually a hostería with its own restaurant.  (The place where we'll be staying when my family visitors come after the rounds is just on the other side of the lake.  I'm already dreaming about it!)
