I left Ipiales on the morning of April 13 to initiate my Peruvian "adventure." My flight wasn't until the evening of the 15th, but I thought it would be nice to have a day to "rest" before beginning eleven weeks of Special Meeting rounds.

Must be warmer in Quito than it was in Ipiales!
Warren and Karen had left fresh roses in the suite for my aesthetic pleasure.
Rebekah and I treated ourselves to pizza that evening. I had a feeling I wouldn't be seeing too much of that for a while, and with one exception, I was right.
