Atuntaqui

On Monday, February 13, Ookyoung and I met up with Alberto Basurto in Ibarra.  Alberto was in this field last year and was going to take us to the greenhouse where Jhasmany Terán works so we could have a Bible study with him.  Despite having a guide, we got a bit lost, and I'm sure we'll never be able to retrace our steps, but hopefully we have a better idea of how to get there.  As it turns out, Jhasmany, who is finishing his last year of high school by correspondence while he works, had just begun his "pasantías," a time when graduating students volunteer in some place of business to get experience.  He needs 160 hours to graduate, so that will chew up a big chunk of his time.  Since he also works full time, it seems like we won't be able to study with him again for a while.  We were very glad that we got there once anyway!

This lot is for sale in case anyone is looking for some land.  ;-)

The greenhouses where Jhasmany works all house tomatoes.

The little wood shack on the right is where Jhasmany lives with his uncle and where we had our Bible study.
