Vernaza

This past Saturday, Marsha and I visited one of our elderly friends about an hour's drive from Guayaquil.  Don Moisés, one of the Guayaquil friends took us in his car since it's much more convenient than taking the bus.  We greatly appreciated his help and his company.

This is what we walk through after we park the car a ways from the house.  There are banana trees, cacao trees, mango trees, avocado trees, and likely more that I didn't spot.

After our study, we had lunch, and I got to play with the three kittens.

Marsha holds up a flower from a banana tree that had fallen.  It's hard to get the idea of how large they are when they're way up in the tree.  Maybe this gives a little better perspective.
