Quito is an early riser, with the sun making an appearance around 6:00 every morning of the year. I didn't even begrudge the noisy army people next door. My family is here, and the adventures of Day #1 together are about to begin!

We've arranged for a van to pick us up at the apartment around 9:00 to make the trip to Mindo.
