John 19:25
This little group of women could do nothing to change the situation, but they were there
standing by. It would have hurt their
hearts so much to see the suffering of the One who meant so much to them, but
they didn’t spare themselves the pain.
They wanted to do all they could for
Him. Sometimes our deepest longing is to be able
to spare those we love the pain of their current experience when really what is
needed is that we would just stand by and encourage them to die.
