Unos pensamientos de Las Mercedes / A few thoughts from Las Mercedes

• Este mundo no es un lugar estable; lo que nos va a ayudar es la oración. / This world is not a stable place; the thing that will help us is prayer.

• En Mateo 4, Jesús respondió al diablo con lo que su Padre le había enseñado. / In Matthew 4, Jesus responded to the devil with what His Father had taught Him.

• Dios quiere que mantengamos el espíritu de un peregrino. / God wants us to maintain the spirit of a pilgrim.

• Control por la disciplina produce orgullo, justicia propia y falta de misericordia.  El control por amor es lo que produce lo que vemos en Jesús. / Self-control that is a result of discipline produces pride, self-righteousness and lack of mercy.  Self-control that is a result of love is what produces what we see in Jesus.

• No queremos buscar consejo según nuestro gusto; siempre lo encontraremos. / We don't want to seek advise according to our own desires; we'll always find it.

• Los milagros no ocurren en la superficie sino en la profundidad de la mar. / Miracles don't happen in the shallow waters but rather in the depths of the sea.

• Nosotros no vamos convenciendo a personas.  Hablamos el mensaje.  Dios es el que convence. / We don't go around convincing people.  We speak the message.  God is the one that convinces.

• Cuando Abraham habló de Ismael, Dios le habló de Isaac. / Whenever Abraham spoke of Ishmael, God spoke to him of Isaac.

• Rut no quería sólo estar entre el pueblo de Dios; quería ser parte del pueblo de Dios. / Ruth didn't just want to be among the people of God; she wanted to be part of the people of God.

• No queremos meternos pero queremos estar dispuestos de que Dios nos use. / We don't want to meddle or interfere, but we want to be willing for God to use us.

• Un manojo no puede mantenerse derecho solo.  José se mantuvo derecho porque tuvo una conección con Dios. / A sheaf can't keep itself upright.  Joseph remained upright because he had a connection with God.

• Una cosa de la cual nuestro enemigo se aprovecha es nuestra inconstancia. / One thing our enemy takes advantage of is our lack of constancy.
