Achotillo

Backtracking a bit, we picked up a bag of this tasty fruit on our way to a Bible study in Vernal when I was in the Guayaquil field a few weeks ago now.  To eat, simply crack the outside shell with your fingernail and pull some of it off (as shown in the picture at the bottom).  Then pop the rest in your mouth and enjoy.  The fruit itself is gelatinous and surrounds a large seed in the middle.  Just keep sucking until you can't peel away any more fruit from the seed.  Repeat as many times as desired.
