Guided Exploration

Our hosts for Wednesday night took us on a vehicle tour of a couple of the islands near their home in Ocean Isle, NC.  As in Charleston, it's harder to get good pictures from the back seat in a moving vehicle, but it didn't stop me from clicking away.  We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the Atlantic Intra-Coastal Waterway, a deer spotting on one of the islands, seeing and hearing the ocean and admiring the islands' vacation homes.

I just thought this was interesting.  :)

Our tour guide in action

One of the islands is being "eaten away" by the ocean.  The homes on this part of the island are in danger of complete destruction.
See the sandbags?

Not a home I'd want to live in at the moment

Trying to hold back the ocean

Makes you think about building on the sand, no?

Do you see the deer?  (Two of them)

A lovely ending to a wonderful day!
