The Entertainment - Part 3

The game of Nouns deserves its own blog entry.  For those of you who have never played, here is a quick run-down.  First, every player in the game must write down five different nouns on five different slips of paper.  (A noun is a person, place or thing.  It can also be an idea if you're feeling adventurous.)  All papers are folded in half and dropped into a bowl.  Players are put into teams of two and sit across the room from each other.  Now you are ready to start play.  Nouns has three rounds.  Round 1: Each player has 30 seconds to describe as many words from the bowl as possible to his/her partner without saying the word or any part of the word.  (Think Taboo.)  Play continues around the circle until all words have been drawn from the bowl.  Each team counts their words, and scores are recorded.  Paper slips are refolded and returned to the bowl.  Round 2: Same as round 1 except that this time players may only use two words to describe the word on the paper slip.  (You should have listened to all the words the first time around!)  Round 3: Same words are used.  This time players must act out as many words as they can in the 30 second time allotment.  Be prepared to laugh hysterically as people try to act out words like "Tropic of Cancer," shrew, porta potty and Elvis.  Here are a few photos of our lively game of Nouns.

Chicken was not one of our words.

Help me out here, Parker.  What was this one?

He rather looks like a contortionist in this one.

I believe this one was "trampoline."

Toupee perhaps?

If any of my fellow Nouns participants can fill in the blanks for these actions, please feel free to comment.
Somehow I seem to have mainly gotten pictures of Parker and Uncle Elliott.  There were many things I wish I could have captured, but these pictures give an interesting sampling of what we saw during the course of our very lively game.  Thanks for the laughs, everyone!
