Workers' Meeting at El Cristal

  • We never want to depend on our own judgment.
  • We need to be careful with our perspective.
  • From the cross, Jesus was able to correct Peter with just a look.
  • What is the fruit of what we are doing, what we are teaching?
  • The most important quality in a steward is that he would be found faithful.  Faithfulness is more important than capability.
  • We want to inspire others to love the gospel, the will of God.

Sweatered Sweetie

I believe I started knitting this sweater somewhere around six years ago.  It was my first "big" project.  As it turned out, it was also my last "big" project.  My co-worker finally put the finishing touches on this year, just in time for this little cutie-pie to get some winter wear out of it.  Isn't she pretty in purple?!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Congratulations to the mighty hunters, Dad and Don Stickel!
(No, this is not a picture of Dad and Don. Don must be the one behind the camera.)

Raw leg of elk, anyone???

I'll let Dad tell the story on his blog.  It was just too exciting for me to let it pass by without some kind of acknowledgement!

A few thoughts from Las Mercedes convention

  • Don't be careless with the privilege of prayer.
  • What experiences are we willing to face in order to become more like the Lamb?
  • Logic hinders faith.
  • God's power is without measure.
  • A true revelation unites.
  • If we knew that our life would soon be over, many things would lose their importance.
  • God wants to take away from us a false sense of security.
  • Self-righteousness robs us of fellowship with our Father and with our brethren.

Convention is here!

José & Lilia's house
Two workers sleep upstairs in the house, and under the house is divided into rooms using tarps for family sleeping.

Before convention at Las Mercedes

Since I didn't spend very much time during these days with a camera in my hand, a few obliging friends were willing to lend me their pictures.
